2014 was once again a successful business year for EUROIMMUN Medizinische Labordiagnostika AG, as the supervisory board and the board of directors of the company could report to the 260 shareholders at the General Meeting on 10th July 2015. The company’s turnover increased by 24.4 % compared to the previous year to over 134.1 million euros. The development of the EUROIMMUN Group has also been very positive. Turnover increased from 148.3 million euros (2013) to 175.2 million euros in the business year 2014.
Also when it comes to human resources, the company can report very strong growth: 142 new members of staff at German branches and 110 in foreign subsidiaries have been employed in the last year. In this way, the number of employees amounted to 1,839, thereof 1,278 in Germany, at the end of 2014. In the meantime, the threshold of 2,000 employees has been exceeded.
Prof. Dr. med. Stöcker, founder of the company and chairman of the board of directors, is confident that EUROIMMUN will continue as a leader at international level. “In the area of serology, we rank amongst the companies with the most sophisticated, state-of-the-art technologies“, says Prof. Dr. med. Stöcker. Company-own inventions, such as an automated microscope for immunofluorescence, smooth the way for EUROIMMUN into many new markets.
Finance director Axel Blankenburg is also very satisfied with the development of the Group at international level. “Our Chinese subsidiary is still our heavy weight with a turnover of over 80 million euros”. The festive laying of the cornerstone of a new EUROIMMUN building in Tianjin/China took place on 3rd July. The acquisition of the French subsidiary one year ago has also proven an excellent investment.
Further investments are also being made at different locations in Germany: in Selmsdorf/Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, 12,000 square metres were acquired for mass production of new devices. At the company site in Dassow/Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, construction work for the new “House of Engineers” started on 22th July. Here, the departments of Analysis Techniques, Physical Techniques and Mechanical Engineering will work together, for example to develop and produce new laboratory instruments or microscopes.
